Another sci-fi movie exploring the whole concept of temporal paradox.
This one is set in New Orleans in the days after Katrina. A TImothy McVeigh-ish Jim Caviezel blows up a ferry and kills 500 people, and ATF officer Denzel Washington is called in to help the FBI investigate.
Among the dead on the ferry is a young woman who, it is determined, was killed before the ferry incident. To add a big boost to the investigations is a new ultra-secret project which helps them view all the events of a few days before, as though they were video-taped.
Denzel watches the life of the young woman through this window into the past, and becomes obsessive about her. So much so, that he decides to risk his life and travel to the past in order to save her life, and those on the ferry.
The stylishly done big-budget movie encompasses multiple genres, from Romance to Thriller to Sci-Fi. A little convoluted, the movie is nonetheless quite gripping.
